The biggest industrial trade show in Spain has registered 1533 exhibitors from around 30 countries, 2605 products, 1163 large-scale machines in operation and an economic impact estimated at €36 million. Between the 30th of May and 4th of June the BIEMH Machine-Tool Biennial was held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC).

The expectations for the event were positive, and they have been confirmed. One of the points most highly rated has been the large number of trade visitors. This 29th edition counted a total of 40,000 people visiting the fair and an extensive activities program in which the NIWE project was presented.

This dissemination event was carried out by the partner TECNALIA on the 2nd of June 2016, within the Manufacturing Ecoefficient event. The NIWE project was presented as: “NIWE – Wireless Power Transmission in casting furnaces: The Highway to the flexibility and efficiency in Foundry.” Attendees could be informed about the general objectives of the project, the work developed and results achieved so far.

This Biennial edition ended with interesting business forums featured and orders secured in all the sectors involved, were visitors numbers were up 13%. Besides, the overall rating of the event was up one point on the figure for 2014 at an excellent 7.7 out of 10.

Next 30th BIEMH will take place on May 28-June 1, 2018 (Monday to Friday).
