Derio, Spain. 16/09/2015
Between the 16th and 17th of September took place the sixth general meeting of the NIWE project at TECNALIA´s facilities, located in the municipality of Derio (Spain).
As on previous occasions, the meeting served to take over the work done by each partner and update different work packages. As newness of this meeting, it can be highlighted the presence of representatives of the European Commission, which had the opportunity to meet all the project partners in person and check the work done by everyone.
Another important news of the project is that two new partners joined the consortium: DEGUISA, a refractory company and INDUCTOTHERM ONDARLAN as furnace developer for Iron and steel, both of them from Spain.
Regarding the technical part and the work carried out by Circe, it is worth mentioning the activities undertaken in the design, simulation and prototype construction of the IPT (Induction Power Transfer). In parallel, the research center has worked in the design and simulation of the coils cooling system and the IPT life cycle studies.
Besides, SEMATEC informed to the project partners about the electromagnetic radiation measurements made in FURESA and BILBOBUL. Finally, the AFV partner was responsible for summarizing and updating the dissemination plan of the project.
During the second day, the consortium and the European Commission representatives had the chance to see the IPT prototype running at the pilot plant of TECNALIA in Irun.
Furthermore, a step forward to the development of the iron and steel prototypes was taken with the cooperation of the new partners.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
